I love the hospitality in this hotel I was treated like a queen. Claudia warm my food up gave me water and help me fine a grocery store. I just want to say that all workers here in this hotel Alessio, Antonio, Gilbert, Claudia, and Ana gave me the best quality service. Domenico’s coffee was delicious. I’m so pleased with the hospitality that I’m planning to come back. The rooms were nice and clean and everything in order. Also, all of my questions were answered and they even made a tour reservation for me. All of my needs were met. I felt safe and happy here. I have it a 5 star.
Excellent modern hotel. Good breakfast selection. Comfy beds. Small but good shower. Super friendly staff on reception.
Exceeded Our Expectations
We discovered this hotel quite by chance, as we had no plans to stay in Matera. But, when an unexpected accident left my wife with a broken foot, we needed a place with easy access for short-term recovery while we revised our travel plans. Hotel Nazionale was the answer to our prayers. Under normal circumstances, one would appreciate its convenient location for sightseeing, great breakfast, the parking garage, room comfort, elevator, wifi, value for the price. On top of all that, we appreciated the conveniences we needed: breakfast delivered to the room, access to pharmacy, and the kindness and compassion of the staff to include; Dining room , and front desk staff Claudia, Alessio, and Antonio. A big thank you to Francesco, who was exceptionally gracious and attentive, and always ensured that we had ice for my wife’s injury. When we return to Matera we will definitely stay at Hotel Nazionale. Thank you!! Bill & Barbara M.
Very clean and comfortable. We spent one night only as we had booked an air BnB in the Sassi.
Breakfast was great! A lot of variety and coffee was very good!

A very good hotel with large, clean and comfortable room, would be perfect if the room is also provided with a kettle and tea bags, etc. There are secure parking spaces at 8 eur/day.
I had a great time, it’s a good value for money with a good breakfast and clean rooms the location is good if you are looking for a easy parking but if you have any locomotion issues get something close to the historic centre
